The Market

Picture
Wakefield Market needs your support to survive.
"A very lively market town and suitably large, well served with fish and meat both from sea and by rivers... so that all food is very good and cheap there. A right honest man shall eat well for 2d a meal. There is plenty coal in the area around Wakefield."

Looking at this Post War Market, it had character and style and should never have been demolished

Remember when Tuesday was Second Hand Market Day and Friday was Fruit and Veg Day?

The Post Millennium Market

The Market now stands in The Precinct, (Upper Kirkgate) and is a shadow of it's former self and now only open 3 days a week.   This is the result of bad planning and procrastination, sadly the land is worth more than a decent Market.
